Commissioner Service Training
Commissioner Training is designed for registered adult volunteers who are serving or have agreed to serve in a designated Commissioner position within a District or Council. Boy Scouts of America (BSA) training shows new Commissioners how to do their jobs and allows for an interchange of ideas with more experienced leaders.
The training requirements for each Commissioner position vary slightly, but in general, the adult volunteer must complete the following courses in order to earn the adult leader Trained patch:
- Youth Protection [OLC]
- Commissioner Basic Training [Classroom]
Commissioners are also encouraged to take adult leader training courses for the programs they are supporting (e.g., Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing), as well as the age-appropriate activity safety courses, including American Red Cross approved training.
